I am a fan of new years resolutions. In fact, I love to welcome times for reflection and growth throughout the year. This year, I'm choosing to embrace a word for myself and my business. // Expand // This word means so many things to me. One is walking towards the things that make me nervous. Case in point: blogging. I've been procrastinating writing a post since I've launched my site. I'm a visual person and I don't think of myself as a writer. So here we are, two years later with post number one! A second meaning to Expand is reaching out. As an artist, I've spent a lot of time in my life doing internal work and reflection. I've spent many hours thinking about improving my own life, business and creativity. This year, I want to be more involved in my community. I am starting to look outward, embracing volunteer opportunities and brainstorming ways I can use my skills as a photographer to help populations in need. I has been a tense and dark time in our country politically. As a wedding photographer, I celebrate love. I continue to look for connection, inspiration and hope even during these dividing times. I also am looking to Expand on a personal level. In can happen in the smallest of ways, like taking a dance class, going to a lecture, cooking a new recipe or just sitting by a stream in the Angeles Crest forest.
